A Girly Weekend in the Cotswolds

Last weekend I went to Stow-on-the-Wold for a little jolly with my chums the two As.  It is such a beautiful part of the country and we were lucky with beautiful wintery weather too.

I knew I was close when I got stuck behind a horse box...but it did allow me to admire the gorgeous stone walls.

We stayed at the youth hostel which was brilliant - cheap and equipped with a kitchen.

We did all the things you need for a good weekend:

climbed trees,
ate picnic,
had tea and cake,
drank champagne,
went to the pub,
drank gin and tonics,
ate chocolate,
talked A. LOT. and stayed up far too late laughing and blah-ing on,
ate a lot of bacon sandwiches,
went on a delicious walk across the fields,
ate more picnic.

It was excellent.

Afternoon tea perched on a wall - a flask of hot tea and scones with lemon curd and clotted cream.

This was everywhere, I think it's called Viburnum and it smells like heaven.

So pretty!

We had well-done-on-new-job and oo-girl-weekend champers with blackberry thingy (to make a sort of brambley Kir Royale, delish).

We went to the pub.

We ate quite a few bacon sandwiches...

Then went for a fabulous walk.
