A Housewarming

Oh dear, rather belated, this week has been extremely busy.

Edward and I went on an adventure to the South coast last weekend.

My parents have just moved to Eastbourne on their return from a delicious little 'two-year-break-from-life' in the South of France.  Returning to freezing England from a balmy 20 degrees in Bordeaux is bound to be a shock to the system, and combined with the move from an old converted farm house with a huge vegetable garden and daily fresh eggs to a cute but tiny garden-less flat, we thought they might be in need of a bit of jolly company on their first night.

We had a fresh but beautifully sunny afternoon in Brighton while they sorted things out, and arrived at the flat in the evening just in time for a spot of box-unpacking before the party really got under way.

Sunshine!

Cooking was strictly off the menu, so we had a delicious Chinese takeaway for supper with a bottle of bubbles, followed by coffee and walnut cake (with candles - it was also Daddy's birthday, double celebration).  Excellent celebratory fare!

The sun made another brief appearance on Sunday morning, so we trundled down to the sea front for some vitamin D and sea breeze.

 It was glorious!

We put the boys on the train back to their respective homes and headed back to the flat to unpack the rest of the boxes, clean and wash the flat and get it looking more like home.

Exhausted by our efforts we settled down with a glass of rose to a bit of patchwork and the BBC's Pride and Prejudice, the perfect end to a lovely day!

The patchwork grows...
